Job Summary
CNC Programmer / CNC Machinist for hard milling in a precision mold manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include CAD/CAM programming for vertical CNC milling with hard milling focus, operating Yasda machining centers with Fanuc controls, setting up tooling/fixtures, developing efficient toolpaths for tight-tolerance mold components, maintaining tolerances to ±0.0001”, inspecting parts with CMM and inspection equipment, interpreting GD&T, and collaborating with design/engineering teams to improve machining processes. Preferred background includes a technical degree or training in CNC programming and machining, extensive hard milling experience on Yasda centers, proficiency with CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, Cimatron, Pro/E), mold manufacturing/precision tooling experience, strong 3-axis programming, high-speed machining, metrology, and GD&T interpretation, plus strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills. Additional opportunities include exposure to EDM, electrode design, mold design, surface grinding, and precision fitting. Compensation is competitive with benefits; location is Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN.
Required Qualifications
- Technical degree or training in CNC Programming, Machining, or Precision Manufacturing
- Strong experience with hard milling of tool steels and hardened mold components
- Experience machining on Yasda high-precision machining centers
- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Cimatron, Pro/E, or similar platforms
- Ability to interpret GD&T blueprints and tight-tolerance manufacturing requirements
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
