Job Summary
CNC Machinist position responsible for setting up CNC machines, loading vises/fixtures, calculating offsets, and operating machines to drill and mill components according to blueprints and work instructions. Will verify component quality through first-part and in-process inspections, maintain tolerances, replace worn tools, and adjust machines as needed. Tasks include cutting fixturing, tooling support, and assisting with new prints and parts. Must adhere to strict safety procedures, document production and quality logs, and communicate irregularities across shifts. Requires strong reading of mechanical drawings, CAD/CAM familiarity, attention to detail, and teamwork. Four years of CNC experience is preferred; completion of related apprenticeship/certificate is a plus but not required; English communication skills required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of successful experience as a CNC operator or related experience
- Completion of Apprenticeship and/or certificate or degree in machining, engineering, or related field is a plus but not required
- Computer savvy with a basic understanding of CAD/CAM programming
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Strong conceptual skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Successful experience with process improvement, tooling, and use of the functional and technical skills needed to perform this job
- Attention to detail and good judgment
