Job Summary
Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic parts by studying blueprints, selecting programs, and adjusting machining controls for speed, feed, and depth of cut. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on workpieces, then run trial machining to verify accuracy before loading parts and observing operation for malfunctions. Grind, file, sand, and clean machined parts while performing first-piece and in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, and indicators. Conduct routine preventative maintenance and repairs on machines, completing required logs. This full-time, non-management position requires a high school diploma, one to two years of related experience, and the ability to read blueprints and interpret basic measuring tools.
