Job Summary
Set up, dismantle, and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis milling centers, including tool changes and fixture management, while performing precise measurements with calipers, micrometers, and depth gages. Read complex drawings and specifications, applying geometric tolerance knowledge to ensure part accuracy. Train team members on measurement techniques, tooling applications, and problem-solving strategies. Adapt to frequent schedule changes and extended hours as necessary. Lift 35 lbs and perform basic math calculations for material fabrication. Minutemen Staffing offers equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, bore gages and indicators.
- Strong knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions.
- Strong knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
- Ability and willingness to train others in measurement, tooling, and problem solving.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to communicate in English (both written & oral) as it relates to the job.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
- Must be willing and able to work extended hours as necessary.
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
- Must be able to set up 3,4, and 5 milling center machines, dismantle set-ups, and perform tool changes.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with horizontal lathe is a plus!
