Job Summary
As a CNC Machinist you will independently set up machines for various jobs, operate with high quality and safety, and support production goals. Responsibilities include setting up machines, executing efficient machine operation with frequent inspections and documentation to ensure parts meet specifications, proposing and implementing process improvements with Engineering and Senior Machinists, troubleshooting with Supervisors/Engineers/Senior Machinists, maintaining comprehensive logs of machine operations and setup notes, performing in-process and first-piece inspections, conducting total productive maintenance on assigned machines, training other machinists or operators, and upholding a safe work environment aligned with UMC’s core values. The role is based on-site in Monticello, MN, with a Monday–Thursday schedule (6:00 am–4:30 pm).
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Machining or related field or work experience in place of education
- 2+ years’ experience as a machinist
- Experience with CMM and VCMM
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, use math for basic calculations, and use hand-held measuring tools
