Job Summary
Set up, run, and alter CNC mills and lathes to perform cutting, drilling, tapping, milling, and boring operations to very close tolerances. Evaluate tool wear, make offsets, load/unload parts, and tear down setups while returning tooling to designated locations. Check product specs, handle nonconforming items, complete production documentation, and perform secondary operations such as counterboring and sub-assembly work. Deliver completed parts, meet productivity expectations, and conduct light maintenance while adhering to ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 management systems. Maintain a 5S+1 organized work area, participate in continuous improvement activities, and follow safety programs with proper PPE use. Work limited supervision in the onsite Milwaukie, OR facility during the first shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Minimum 2 years of CNC machine operating experience
- Knowledge of hand tools
- Knowledge of shop math (compound angles, trigonometry)
- Ability to understand and follow machining procedures
- Ability to read blueprints and set up sheets
- Ability to make tool wear and work offset adjustments
- Proficient in using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
- Ability to use an electric pallet jack
- Ability to lift up to 33 pounds
- Team member must be mobile enough to navigate the manufacturing shop floor safely, including walking and standing for up to four hours at a time
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school experience
- CNC programming experience
- Prior experience with Haas and Okuma equipment
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, including feeds, speeds, G codes, and M codes
