Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce machined parts while maintaining quality, safety, and equipment standards. Validate work orders, blueprints, and machining parameters; measure finished pieces using precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot malfunctions, detect tool wear through sound and vibration, and replace worn tools as needed. Document actions taken and communicate continuity between shifts to support on-time delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ year of experience machining with CNC Lathes
- Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing
- Understanding of cutting tool Geometry
- Knowledge of tooling and coordination
- Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure
- Good verbal and written communication
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- US Person eligibility (for Controlled Data or Information access)
- Ability to complete a satisfactory background check
- Ability to participate in a random drug test pool (for FAA sensitive positions)
- Willingness to work overtime if necessary
- Ability to wear safety equipment including eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- Ability to work in unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Ability to stand 100% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to push up to 50 pounds
