Job Summary
Perform complete machine set-ups, including loading fixtures, selecting programs, and setting work coordinates. Sizing in the first part using offsets and observed measurements with micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Read and interpret complex drawings, symbols, and GD&T tolerances while identifying correct materials for each job. Operate CNC machines that are programmed with dedicated set-ups and measure basic dimensions using manual inspection tools. Troubleshoot operational issues in real-time to maintain high quality and meet assigned run times while holding strict specifications. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and respond quickly to changing demands.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of real CNC machining experience, ideally including multi-axis machines
- Proven ability to perform your own setups, tear-downs, and first-article inspections
- Strong ability to read and act on complex blueprints and part tolerances
- Comfort in a high-mix, precision environment with a track record of reliability and accountability
- Self-driven attitude with the ability to respond quickly to changing demands and troubleshoot programming/operational issues on the fly
- Basic exposure to CNC machining (mills or lathes) through a local tech school or initial industry experience
- Ability to measure basic dimensions and willingness to learn advanced metrology tools
- Absolute reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to take direction
- Strong ownership mindset and a desire to grow into advanced setups
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM (4 x 10s)
- Must be available for Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (3 x 12s — work 36 hours, get paid for 40)
