Job Summary
Create parts from drawings and written instructions by measuring, marking, and indicating dimensions on materials to guide machining. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot computer-controlled machines to perform functions, detecting malfunctions and adjusting controls as needed. Implement changes to machine programs, enter new specifications, and post-edit code to fine-tune processes for optimal performance. Clean and lubricate equipment to ensure efficient operation. Requires basic knowledge of metal machining processes and measurements to provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced staff. Full-time position with 8 or 10-hour shifts available.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years experience in the Machinist Field
- Understanding of CNC machine logic
- Able to write basic programs
- Able to post-edit CNC programs to fine-tune processes for optimal performance
- Able to read, find errors and troubleshoot programs
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints
- Ability to write and/or complete routine reports
- Ability to work under a minimum of supervision
