Job Summary

Review assigned Jira tickets to determine material, tooling, and fixturing requirements with autonomy, then sort tasks using the Critical Path Method to optimize machine uptime. Program parts using high-end CAM software like Fusion 360 and Powermill, operating multi-axis machining centers while quickly applying roughing and finishing toolpaths to minimize delay. Collaborate with engineering teams on manufacturability issues, provide Design for Manufacturing feedback, and modify CAD parts as needed. Perform inspection tasks using advanced GD&T and precision measuring equipment, including 3D scanning with Polyworks, to ensure parts meet tight tolerance specifications. Conduct machine maintenance, monitor filters and oil levels, and continuously improve machining workflows to reduce processing time and prevent costly vendor disruptions.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of experience in a CNC machining environment
  • working with Fusion 360, Mastercam, Powermill, or similar software
  • Proficient in working with 3D CAD data to create or modify existing 3D models
  • Program, setup, and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC Mills and Lathes
  • strong preference for Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Haas controls
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • ability to review G-code to troubleshoot or verify toolpaths before running
  • Strong understanding of various machining processes, tooling, and materials
  • aluminum, steel, plastics
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • commitment to producing high-quality, precise parts within +-0.002" tolerance or tighter
  • Inspect your own parts using standard precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • ensure compliance with tight tolerance specifications
