CNC Machinist II

Job Summary
Mid-level CNC Machinist responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC machine tools (lathes and milling machines) to manufacture precision parts. Reads blueprints, CAM files, and engineering drawings; performs dimensional and attribute inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and go/no-go gauges; conducts first article inspections and adjusts processes to maintain tolerances. Troubleshoots basic machine malfunctions and performs routine preventative maintenance. Maintains safety and quality standards, keeps a clean/organized work area, and communicates production and quality concerns with supervision and team members. Participates in meetings, training, and development activities. Requires ability to follow verbal and written directions in English and to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2–4 years of CNC machining experience
- Experience operating CNC lathes and milling machines preferred
- Basic knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and quality inspection methods
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to safely work in a manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to moving machinery and metal materials
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions as needed
- Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and speak)
