Job Summary
Set up, adjust, and operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform progressive machining operations on repetitive workpieces, ensuring exact tolerances and finish specifications. Read programming instructions, operational data, and machine setup guides to code tool arrangements, calibrate consoles, and manage material clamping. Check parts for conformance to specifications while potentially running multiple units simultaneously. This 2nd shift role (Mon-Thu 4:30pm-3am, Fri 2:30pm-11pm) at Kurt Machining supports aerospace, defense, and semiconductor clients with precision CNC services.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 years of related experience
- Ability to perform metric conversions
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds constantly
- Ability to reach by extending hands and arms
- Ability to handle objects by seizing, holding, grasping, turning
- Ability to pick, pinch, or work primarily with fingers
- Near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
- Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships
- Ability to stoop by bending body downward and forward
- Ability to kneel by bending legs at knees
- Ability to crouch by bending body downward and forward
- Ability to perceive attributes of objects by touch
- Ability to hear by perceiving the nature of sounds
- Ability to adjust vision to bring objects into sharp focus
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Reliable attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- 4 or more years of related experience
