Job Summary
Operate CNC machinery safely and accurately to fabricate metal parts from common and exotic materials. Load and unload parts, change tooling, program machines, and adjust settings per blueprint specifications. Monitor execution, input part specs, and select cutting tools including pre-sets and probes. Perform equipment inspections, maintain machinery daily, and document actions in production logs. Troubleshoot processes, adjust controls, and replace worn tools as needed. Ensure safety, quality, and schedule requirements are met while collaborating with engineers and project managers.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in an industrial/manufacturing facilities environment
- Previous experience with lathes, mills, press breaks, plasma machines, small hand tools
- Working knowledge of conventional, CNC, and advanced manufacturing techniques
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Able to read and interpret work instructions
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Familiarity with safety programs and procedures i.e. LOTO, hazard communication, and other company safety policies
- Able to work effectively in South Alabama climate conditions
- Able to stand for long periods of time, crawl, squat, and climb without tiring easily
- Able to lift 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a background check and drug test
Desired Qualifications
- Capable of setting up mills and lathes by installing fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications is a plus
- Capable of troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, changing inserts and replacing worn tools is a plus
