CNC Machinist II (1st shift)

Job Summary

Set up and operate CNC Lathes and CNC Mills to manufacture precision aerospace components, following work instructions and engineering specifications. Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment, read blueprints, and interpret GD&T requirements to ensure product quality and maintain a scrap rate below 5%. Troubleshoot machining processes through approved tooling and program adjustments, then deburr, clean, and package finished parts. Document daily and weekly preventative maintenance, production data, and downtime in job tracking systems while adhering to 5S standards. Work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Trade school, vocational training, or completion of a four-year apprenticeship with one year of related work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC setup and operation experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of precision machining experience
  • Experience operating multi-axis CNC equipment
  • Experience using Fanuc controls
  • Proficient in CNC machine setup and operation
  • Strong understanding of G-Code and M-Code programming
  • Knowledge of tool geometry and tool wear offsets
  • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Strong precision measurement and inspection skills
  • Practical application of machine shop mathematics
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Must possess the personal tooling required to perform job functions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate CNC machinery, inspection equipment, and computers
  • Visual ability to inspect precision components, read blueprints, and operate machinery safely
  • Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA regulations
  • 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience machining aerospace or precision components
  • Experience with live tooling; sub-spindle experience
  • Experience with Doosan, HAAS, and Brother CNC machines
  • Basic CAD/CAM exposure
