Job Summary
The Machinist I position at Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine involves receiving and reviewing drawings, constructing and loading CNC programs, modifying them to meet specifications, and ensuring proper gauging and calibration. Responsibilities include measuring and inspecting product dimensions, loading and unloading machines, selecting tooling, and performing minor maintenance. Ideal candidates should possess a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, the ability to read blueprints, strong math skills, and teamwork abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and understand sketches, blueprints
- Understanding and ability to layout parts
- Thorough understanding of tools and fixturing
- Strong math skills
- Ability to work well with a team while also working independently
- Detailed oriented and ability to organize and prioritize
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous manual grinding experience or equivalent education
- Prior CNC experience
