Job Summary
Operate, set up, and program CNC machines (including milling, lathe) to produce parts per specifications. Read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings; edit and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code and M-code. Inspect finished parts with precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure tolerance and quality; document inspection results. Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment, perform routine maintenance, and follow safety procedures. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production staff to meet design specifications and production schedules; participate in team meetings and identify process improvements. Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and machining techniques to maintain high productivity and quality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a CNC machinist program or apprenticeship preferred
- 2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist
- Proficiency in operating CNC lathe machines and reading technical drawings
- Knowledge of CNC programming and editing (G-code, M-code)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of safety practices and standards in a machining environment
- CNC certification from a recognized institution (preferred)
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for CNC programming (preferred)
