Job Summary
Set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC mills, installing tools, attachments, and fixtures for milling operations. Load CNC programs, input parameters, and run production cycles while making adjustments to maintain quality. Inspect finished workpieces using precision instruments to verify dimensions against blueprints and perform routine maintenance on machinery. Maintain production logs tracking parts produced, materials used, and quality results. Adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements. Work Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in CNC Setup and Operation, specifically with both Vertical and Horizontal Milling Centers
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex technical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and engineering drawings
- Demonstrated expertise using precision hand tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and depth gauges
- Strong competency in shop math, including trigonometry and decimals, to calculate offsets and speeds/feeds
- Ability to stand for the duration of a shift (8+ hours) and safely lift/move materials up to 40 lbs
- Unwavering commitment to PPE requirements and shop safety protocols
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with GibbsCAM or similar CAM software for program tweaks or full setups
- Experience operating or programming CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
- Advanced understanding of specialized work-holding fixtures and custom tool geometry
- Completion of a vocational program, NIMS certification, or a formal Machinist Apprenticeship
- A track record of suggesting minor program or setup adjustments to reduce cycle times or improve part finish
- Experience with machining castings
