Job Summary
Operate CNC machining centers to safely and efficiently machine heavy fabrications and cast components to engineering specifications, ensuring consistent quality, delivery performance, and adherence to Waratah standards. Responsibilities include setting up tooling and programs, loading and aligning heavy components, executing machining operations, performing first-off and in-process checks, interpreting drawings, and conducting in-process inspections to meet quality standards. Maintain safety and 5S practices, follow lockout/tagout and guarding requirements, conduct daily machine checks, identify abnormal machine behavior, and provide basic troubleshooting and support for preventative maintenance. Emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and ownership with a strong understanding of machining processes and quality control to meet production targets and minimise scrap and downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Trade Certification in Mechanical Engineering level 4 (Machining)
- Relevant and proven CNC Machining experience
