Job Summary
Program, set up, and operate 4-axis CNC machines to cut laminates, foams, MDF, and fiberglass with exceptional accuracy. Create and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, select feeds and speeds, and troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime. Read technical drawings and CAD files, inspect finished components, and perform routine maintenance on equipment. Operate forklifts to stock materials, fabricate steel frames for FRP molds, and apply lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow and reduce waste. Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline setups and enhance tooling strategies while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Work Monday-Thursday for 10 hours daily with a 4-day schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models
- Understanding of G and M code
- Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to perform basic metal cutting and welding
- Comfortable using an extensive variety of hand and power tools
- Ability to stand for extended periods up to 10 hrs
- Requires standing/walking for extended periods
- Frequent bending
- Lifting up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Use of PPE including respirators when required
- Local regional travel to include all Bestbath Systems facilities
Desired Qualifications
- 4-axis machining router experience
- 5 Axis preferred
- Experience in a composites or woodworking related industry
- Proficiency with Mastercam
- Technical school certifications
- Fabrication experience with a wide variety of materials that can include wood, steel, body fillers, sprayable coatings and fiberglass
- General construction basics including concepts of angles, draft, slope, and tolerances
- CNC equipment repairs
- CCT certification
- Experience applying lean manufacturing principles to CNC machining processes
- Proven ability to participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including setup reduction, workflow optimization, and standard work practices
- Builds competency with developing skills and ownership while being given intermittent control and decision making
