Job Summary
The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC machines to manufacture aircraft components from drawings, blueprints, and CAD models, selecting tools, speeds, and feeds; performs first article inspections and in-process checks; troubleshoots tooling/setup issues; maintains tight tolerances and calibrations; documents setup procedures and part dimensions; collaborates with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve processes and ensure high precision. Requires strong blueprint reading, GD&T, and CAD/CAM knowledge, experience with 3- to 5-axis machines, familiarity with aerospace materials, and a background in aerospace machining; high school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience; US citizenship or permanent residency; shift may include nights, weekends, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of CNC Machinist experience
- Experience in CNC machine setup, operation, and programming (if required) for complex parts with tight tolerances
- Proficiency with operating 3-4-5 axis CNC machines
- Familiarity with aerospace materials and machining requirements (preferred)
- Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or related field (plus)
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (WORK AUTHORIZATION)
- DoD security clearance considerations (if required)
