CNC Machinist 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce quality parts, load parts, set offsets, perform deburring and inspection, interpret drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances, measure dimensions and reference points on material, detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls to ensure quality production; requires knowledge of G&M code, precision measuring tools, reading drawings, and ability to follow instructions. Forklift operation and basic math are also needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Working Knowledge of G & M Code
- Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges)
- Ability to read drawings and specifications with understanding of geometric tolerances
- Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines
- Must be able to operate a forklift and lifting devices
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
- Must be able to communicate in English (written and oral)
- Basic math skills including geometry and algebra
- High School Diploma
