Job Summary
CNC Machinist on 2nd Shift at York Navy Systems Plant. Responsibilities include reading shop prints and process sheets, setting up and operating tape-controlled milling and frilling machines, performing fixture change-overs, loading/unloading production parts, on-line inspection, maintaining tooling, monitoring control messages, and executing housekeeping tasks. Must work with ferrous and nonferrous metals, use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and hand tools, and perform welding-related tasks as needed (coded and noncoded). Must have 1–2 years of trades training and be eligible for a US Federal contract; union position.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read shop prints, mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instrument, process sheets, program tapes.
- Knowledge of NC/N/C controlled machines and shop practices equivalent to 1 to 2 years trades training.
- Ability to setup and operate any tape of tape controlled milling and frilling machines for all specified machining operations.
- Judgment required to plan, perform, make general decisions within prescribed quality, tolerance, limitations.
- Ability to perform moderate physical effort working continuously with light weight or frequently with average weight materials
- This position requires proof of US Citizenship for a DOD Federal Contract.
