Job Summary
Set up and operate EDM/CNC machines to manufacture precision components for aerospace applications, making edits to produce parts to work order specifications. Demonstrate knowledge of feeds, speeds, and cutting tools while inspecting work for dimensional accuracy and maintaining area, equipment, and tooling in an orderly condition. Accurately complete paperwork for counts, scrap, and time, and train or assist other employees as required. Take a proactive approach to solving process problems and comply with OSHA, health, safety, and environment requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Verbal and written skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement Methodologies
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated self-starter
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Manufacturing ERPs (Job Boss)
- Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- The worker may be required to move, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and/or complete repetitive motions during course of work
- Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arms reach
- Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes
- Sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level
- Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
- Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation
- Air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with EDM, Makino Fast Hole, or aerospace manufacturing
