CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to manufacture high-precision aircraft components using technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models. Select cutting tools and optimize machining parameters while performing first article inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure strict tolerances. Troubleshoot machine tooling issues, adjust offsets, and conduct routine maintenance to minimize downtime. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and document setup procedures for repeatability. Perform work in a manufacturing environment with potential noise and vibration exposure, requiring adherence to PPE and safety protocols. This role involves rotating shifts including nights and weekends, with a preference for candidates holding a DoD Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist
- Experience in CNC machine setup, operation, and programming
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Ability to secure Program Access approval
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Must be available for rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the production of high-precision components for aircraft or related systems
- Proficiency in operating 3-4-5-axis CNC machines
- Aerospace machining experience
- Familiarity with aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, aluminum, stainless steel) and their machining requirements
- Associate's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or a related technical field
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, CATIA, Siemens NX)
- Proficiency in CNC programming (e.g., G-code, M-code) and operating various types of CNC machines, such as mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines
