Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers, reading blueprints and CAD drawings to select tooling, workholding, and machining strategies. Perform first-piece inspections, optimize feeds and speeds, and modify NC code while supporting lights-out and automated manufacturing operations. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues using precision measuring equipment and GD&T, maintaining compliance with ISO 13485, AS9100, FDA, and ITAR regulations. Identify process improvements to reduce setup times and support lean manufacturing initiatives, assisting with training less experienced staff. Work in a modern facility manufacturing components for medical devices, aerospace, and defense sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years CNC milling setup and operation experience
- Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and G-Code
- Experience performing setups independently
- Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, workholding, feeds, and speeds
- Ability to inspect precision-machined components
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have a valid Green Card
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational training, apprenticeship, or technical education
- Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controls experience
- Mastercam experience
- Experience with pallet systems and automation
- Medical, aerospace, defense, or precision contract manufacturing experience
