Job Summary
Calculate dimensions and machine parts to specifications using CNC mills, lathes, and precision instruments like micrometers. Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools while aligning fixtures and cutting tools for precision machining operations. Monitor feed and speed during processes, diagnose malfunctions, and maintain equipment in proper operational condition. Measure completed units for defects, evaluate machining procedures for efficiency improvements, and dispose of scrap according to environmental regulations. Confers with engineering and supervisory personnel to exchange technical information and supports metalworking projects from planning through testing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three years of precision machining experience
- knowledge of AX
- knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Vo-tech
