Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes and mills) to produce parts per design specifications. Review blueprints and work orders to plan production, load tools and programs, and adjust speeds/tools as needed. Analyze and modify programs, select cutting tools, and inspect finished parts using micrometers and calipers. Maintain a clean, safe workspace and assist with equipment maintenance. Requires strong blueprint interpretation, problem-solving, and communication with management, engineers/programmers, and quality staff; CNC programming (G-code/M-code) experience is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in reading blueprints/technical drawings
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines (lathes and mills)
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers)
- Mechanical/technical aptitude
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate to advanced shop math
