Job Summary
CNC Machinist with entry-to-mid level progression sought for 1st shift to set up and operate conventional and CNC machines to produce precision parts to tight tolerances (lathe, mill, CNC multi-axis, grinding, and CURVIC coupling grinding). Read blueprints and program readouts, select materials and cutting tools, perform basic machine set ups, and verify parts against print specifications using precision measuring tools (micrometers, vernier gages, indicators). Maintain dimensional tolerances to tight limits (to .001” and finer on various processes) and perform inspection during machining. Trainees progress through Machinist Level I–IV, expanding capability to program edits, tool selection, speeds/feeds adjustments, advanced measuring techniques, and training responsibilities. Must have high school diploma or equivalent and willingness to learn, training opportunities, and shift premiums for additional shifts. The role requires a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving parts, fumes, and loud conditions; physical requirements include standing, manual dexterity, and ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools
- Ability to set up and operate CNC and conventional machines
- Knowledge of machining practices, tolerances, and tool selection
- Ability to read and interpret technical directives
- Willingness to work overtime and different shifts
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel a plus)
