Job Summary
Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including 5-axis machines, to fit and assemble parts for tooling repair and fabrication. Select tools, materials, speeds, and feeds to machine components to tight tolerances, while reading blueprints, GD&T, and engineering documentation to determine machining sequences. Interpret CNC programs for occasional edits and use precision measuring tools to verify accuracy of finished parts. Communicate with engineering and manufacturing teams to exchange technical information while adhering to all safety, health, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or HSED/GED equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of general machining experience
- 5-axis CNC machining experience
- CNC machine setup and tool change/changeover experience
- Ability to understand and make occasional edits to CNC programs
- Knowledge of G and M codes
- Familiarity with FANUC, HEIDENHAIN, and/or Siemens controls
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- Good computer skills
- Ability to learn new processes
- Safety glasses and safety shoes required in all manufacturing areas
- Additional PPE may be required as needed
- Strong fine motor skills
- Comfortable working on sensitive or delicate parts
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 50 pounds
