Job Summary
CNC Machining Operator responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines to achieve first article quality. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work instructions; load/unload parts; perform deburring and other cycle-time tasks; perform daily maintenance; meet production goals for cycle time, quantity, and quality; manage Kanban records; maintain 5S in the cell; document defects and verify quality with precision measuring tools; support manufacturing engineers and programmers in daily production, projects, and insourcing efforts; change tooling and tool-holders to maintain quality; operate NC and manual equipment as required; and train others as a process expert.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, Technical School certificate, or related work experience required
- Three (3) to five (5) years prior successful experience operating CNC Machines
- Extensive experience with one or more of the following CNC machines: Hass, Hardinge, Tsugami Swiss
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple to moderate mathematical calculations
- Ability to read blueprints, bills of materials, and part specifications
- Ability to operate machines precisely with high degree of attention to produce quality products
- Must be able to read and utilize measuring instruments: 6 to 12” scale, vernier calipers, comparator, pin gauge, thread gauges, and micrometer
- Must understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets
- Must have experience machining materials: nickel-based stainless-steel alloys (Inconel, Monel, etc.), Copper, Aluminum, and/or Titanium
