Job Summary
Oversee all CNC machine shop operations by directing work activities, assigning tasks based on workload, and instructing employees to meet OTD goals. Visually inspect parts, remove flash and defects using grinding tools, and maintain accurate part counts while approving CNC program updates. Review the master schedule to optimize personnel use and communicate with the inspection team to prioritize jobs. Provide administrative support for quality reviews and corrective actions, attend technical meetings, and cover the Supervisor or foreman when necessary. Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, lean work environments, and process specifications while continuously updating machine practices to enhance production.
Required Qualifications
- comprehensive knowledge of all of the equipment being used in the machine shop
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- at least ten years of CNC and conventional set up knowledge and operation
- some vocational training in the machining and manufacturing fields
- excellent blueprint reading skills
- First article lay out skills
- Good math skills
- Microsoft office knowledge
- Experience with ERP software
- strong background in inspection of aerospace parts and forgings
- strong communication skills
- The ability to edit and write CNC programs
- Must be a citizen of the United States, or a person who has been accorded the privilege of residing permanently in the United States as an immigrant in accordance with the immigration laws
