CNC Machine Operator / Night Shift

Job Summary
Set up and machine crankcases according to specifications, routings, control plans, and drawings on line boring and Burkhardt & Weber (B&W) machining centers with Sinumerik One control systems. Bore and align bearing alleys, including camshaft and crankshaft bores, while clamping, reclamping, and unclamping parts to monitor and correct the process as necessary. Adjust tools, study job orders and blueprints to determine dimensional specifications and tooling requirements, and perform in-process quality assurance. Entry-level candidates start with line boring; advanced roles progress to B&W machines with increasing responsibility and pay. Night shift hours run Sunday through Wednesday from 7:30 pm to 6:00 am. A $3,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are provided for eligible applicants.
Required Qualifications
- Completed vocational training as a machine and plant operator or a comparable qualification, or a U.S. equivalent such as a mechanical or machining trade school certificate, an Associate's Degree, or relevant hands-on experience in a machining environment
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic specializing in production technology, or a comparable 3.5-year apprenticeship in a metalworking profession, or 2 years of trade school or an equivalent Associate's Degree, or 3 years of experience in a heavy-duty machining environment
- Several years of experience operating NC-controlled machining centers
- Knowledge of Sinumerik One control system
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Sunday-Wednesday 7:30pm-6:0am
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating Burkhardt & Weber (B&W) machining centers
- Knowledge of Sinumerik One control system would be particularly advantageous
- Several years of experience on a conventional boring mill (e.g., Collet) would be an advantage
- Experience machining crankcases or large cast components
