CNC Machine Operator - Night Shift - Aerospace

Job Summary

Operate computer-controlled CNC machines to produce customer orders, interpreting blueprints and adjusting feed rates, speeds, and tooling as needed. Perform daily point checks, remove finished workpieces, and monitor coolant systems while listening for irregular sounds. Accurately measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure specifications are met, and replace dull cutting tools following safety protocols. Night shift hours run from 4:30 PM to 4:00 AM with a $4/hour shift differential. This role requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residence due to ITAR compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • U.S. permanent residence (Green Card)
  • status as a protected person
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • six (6) months experience in a manufacturing role utilizing CNC machines or similar automated equipment
  • relevant apprenticeship or vocational training in a machine shop, manufacturing technology, or similar program
  • two (2) years experience in a manufacturing role utilizing CNC machines or similar automated equipment
  • relevant apprenticeship or vocational training in a machine shop, manufacturing technology, or similar program
  • three (3) years experience in a manufacturing role utilizing complex multi-axis machining centers
  • Vocational training/certification in machining
  • relevant apprenticeship or vocational training in a machine shop, manufacturing technology, or similar program
  • Experience reading & accurately interpreting shop blueprints, sketches, and other technical information/instructions
  • Demonstrated basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fraction conversions)
  • Experience using mics, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
  • A history of consistent employment without unexplained or significant gaps or frequent job changes
  • Completion of assigned internal training for Level I, II, or III Operators
  • periodic retraining or recertification
  • Regular attendance on site at the workplace
  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility
  • stand for long periods to perform job duties
  • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment
  • Occasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform duties
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate machine and material handling controls
  • Accurately distinguish colors to respond to sensors, indicators, and color-variable dashboards
  • Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices
