CNC Machine Operator

Job Summary

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn centers while reading manufacturing prints to ensure correct tooling and process parameters. Load and vet NC programs, adjust offsets, maintain cutting tools, and perform preventive maintenance on production support equipment. Measure in-process QA data, operate material handling equipment, and conduct 1st-piece prove outs using precision instruments. Train less-skilled operators, communicate with engineering to resolve process issues, and maintain 6S housekeeping standards. This onsite role covers the 2nd or 3rd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM or 11:00 PM–7:30 AM) with overtime available.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–4 years of experience working with CNC machines (mills, lathes, mill-turn)
  • Ability to read blueprints, prints, and process specifications
  • Practical experience with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges) and tool setting equipment
  • Working knowledge of CNC controls and software (Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Fagor, Siemens referenced)
  • Understanding of work offsets, tool offset parameters, GD&T fundamentals, and CAD-CAM concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/push up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Available for overtime as needed
  • Available for 2nd or 3rd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM or 11:00 PM–7:30 AM)

  • Experience training others and documenting processes
  • Familiarity with presetters, shrink-fit tooling, and advanced CNC programming techniques
