Job Summary
Operate CNC machines on low to medium complexity components using automated and manual equipment to meet customer needs. Independently load parts, assemble cutting tools, and identify tool wear while reading programs and understanding M codes. Complete operational checklists, perform inspection measurements with hand tools and Micro-Hite equipment, and adjust parts based on CMM reports. Troubleshoot machine errors with assistance and escalate issues to leads or supervisors. Participate in 5S workplace activities and maintain the area in good working order. This entry-level role includes a typical 90-day CNC Trainee period or requires one year of demonstrated experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to set the tool to the correct height with assistance from others
- Typically requires 90 days as a CNC Trainee and or one (1) year of demonstrated CNC Machine Operator experience
- Basic computer and math skills
- Ability to read and understand work instructions in English
- Ability to convey ideas and information clearly, concisely, and accurately to others in English, both verbally and in written form
- Basic ability to interpret technical drawings to ensure proper inspection of parts
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills

Desired Qualifications
- Some experience reading drawings
- Ability to properly load and run equator
- Ability to learn to read CMM reports and reports from the equator and adjust parts
- Ability to learn the difference between types of tool wear
- Ability to identify the correct start line in the program
- Ability to gain basic working and functional knowledge of M codes
- Ability to look at parts to ensure they were machined properly
- Ability to correctly identify and assemble cutting tools and tool holder assemblies based on existing process documentation
- Ability to complete all operational processes, checklists, control plans, and procedures as required
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of the machine (with assistance) if there is an error code
- Ability to participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities
- Ability to maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities
- Ability to complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work with internal team members, leads, supervisors, and quality
- Ability to operate a minimum of one type of CNC equipment
