Job Summary
CNC Machinist develops and runs set up, operation, and maintenance of CNC lathes and mills to produce high-precision metal parts. Reads blueprints and CAD models, collaborates with engineering on prototypes and new components, and uses calipers, micrometers, gauges for tight tolerances. Selects tooling, speeds, and feeds, troubleshoots issues, performs routine maintenance, and documents setup sheets and deviations for traceability. Assists in fabrication or modification of custom machine parts and participates in continuous improvement to enhance part quality and process efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site role in Sealy, TX; requires a high school diploma or GED and 3+ years CNC experience. Preferred qualifications include CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360) and experience supporting engineering/R&D; bilingual skills are a plus. PPE and safety protocols apply.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes, ideally in a custom or prototype environment
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and using precision measurement tools
- Ability to understand G-code and basic CNC programming/editing
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Familiarity with machining metals used in industrial equipment (e.g., copper, steel, aluminum)
- Comfortable working with engineers and contributing to experimental setups and custom designs
Desired Qualifications
- CAM software experience (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin) is a plus
