Job Summary
Set up, operate, and maintain Okuma, Mazak, Fanuc Robodrill's, and Haas CNC machine centers while interpreting technical drawings and GD&T to produce precision parts. Lead and supervise a team of machinists by coordinating schedules, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring alignment with production goals. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and in-process inspections to ensure quality standards and minimize defects. Analyze machine utilization data, conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues, and drive continuous improvement through Kaizen events and Lean techniques like 5S and Value Stream Mapping. Work the day shift from Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on-site at Ascentec Engineering's Tualatin, Oregon headquarters.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical degree or certification in CNC machining
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining
- At least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
- Proficiency in operating and set up of Okuma, Mazak, Fanuc Robodrill's, and Haas machine centers
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to employment
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
- Must be available for swing and weekend shifts
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily
