Job Summary
Develop and optimize NC programs using Siemens NX for complex machining on mill-turn machines, 2-axis lathes, and CNC mills. Validate programs virtually through machine simulation and perform on-machine validation and optimization. Collaborate with design engineers to enhance part designs for manufacturability and participate in equipment installation, runoff, and production startup activities. Requires 5 years of NC programming experience, proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T, and ability to obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment developing NC programs
- 5 years of NC programming experience using CAM software
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and demonstrated understanding of CAD principles and GD&T
- Experience creating process related work instruction documentation
- Fundamental understanding of machining work holding strategy, cutting tool selection, and gaging selection
- Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches)
- Capable of pushing or pulling 60 pounds
- Grip strength of at least 50 pounds
- Ability to reach above shoulder height (65 inches)
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed
- Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Desired Qualifications
- CNC grinding experience
- Previous hands-on experience machining
- Experience working with aerospace alloys and hardened steel alloys
