CNC Lathe Operator - Swing Shift

Job Summary

Safely operate CNC equipment, load and unload parts, and perform basic in-process inspections while monitoring machine performance. Maintain accurate production records, keep the work area organized, and communicate issues to support smooth workflow. Troubleshoot minor issues, identify early quality concerns, and assist with training junior operators as assigned. Work onsite in a machine-shop environment following all safety protocols and standard work instructions. This role supports RTCA's precision aerospace manufacturing across four U.S. Centers of Excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, routers, and basic production documentation
  • Ability to use standard measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Basic computer/data entry skills
  • Ability to work safely in a machine‐shop environment and follow all safety protocols
  • US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15
  • Swing Shift availability (M-Th, 3:15pm-1:45am)

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous CNC operation experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
  • Experience performing in‐process inspections and documenting results
  • Familiarity with production workflows and machine‐shop best practices
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior operators
