Job Summary
Setup and program CNC and manual lathes according to job specifications, reading blueprints and technical drawings to interpret work orders. Create, edit, and adjust CNC programs while selecting appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials. Operate machines to produce precision metal parts within tight tolerances, inspecting finished components using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot machining issues, and optimize production processes to reduce waste. Follow all safety procedures and collaborate with engineers and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow. Requires 2+ years of lathe experience, proficiency with G-code, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in lathe setup and operation (CNC or manual)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of different metal materials and machining processes
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with G-code programming and conversational programming (preferred)
