Job Summary
Program CNC Lathe (mill turn) and Swiss lathe Programmer responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining lathe processes and programs across 2-axis and multi-axis live-tooling machines, including bar loaders or gantry loaders. Collaborates with production management and engineering to optimize manufacturing processes, improve existing procedures, and establish a reliable programming foundation on the shop floor. Requires extensive knowledge of manufacturing principles, materials (steels/aluminums) and cutting properties, and the ability to work in both digital and practical environments with management and machine-setter operators. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining machining procedures, developing CNC programs with CAM (Autodesk PartMaker), minimizing costs and cycle times, organizing and safeguarding program data, ensuring tooling and workholding readiness, guiding operators, and coordinating with Plant/Engineering Managers on project scheduling and workflow. Safety: Background check and drug testing, safety-sensitive position.
Required Qualifications
- High school vo-tech focus
- MFG trade school or related technological education (degree in MFG engineering preferred)
- 7 years+ of Mill turn lathe machining
- 5 years + Programming 2 and multi axis lathes
- 5 years + proficiently setting up and running 2 and multi axis lathes
- Programming in NC Code/ CAM package (PartMaker preferred)
- Strong communication skills
- Strength in organization and planning
- Strong sense in MFG design and work-holding
- Thorough understanding of machine tooling and utilization
- Basic knowledge of DNC and NC program databases
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
