Job Summary
CNC Lathe Machinist responsible for setting up, configuring, and operating CNC lathe machines, loading materials, selecting cutting tools, monitoring tool wear, inspecting parts for accuracy, using micrometers and calipers for dimensional verification, programming with FANUC or similar controls, and collaborating with QC/engineering to ensure first article and in-process quality. Requires interpreting drawings, maintaining tolerances, ensuring safety, producing quality to print, and mentoring junior machinists. Emphasis on precision machining, tool changes, MES transactions, and adherence to production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in a metal fabricating environment with knowledge of machining
- Ability to interpret drawings, use standard precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and check threads
- Basic understanding of metals and alloys
- Proficient in common arithmetic operations and geometry calculations
- Possess analytical and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and troubleshoot issues effectively
- Must be effective in a fast-paced environment
