Job Summary
Set up and run Doosan and DN Solutions CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, writing and editing programs at the machine control as needed. Manage tooling, workholding, and offsets to produce parts within tight tolerances of .001" or .0005". Inspect work using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to verify conformance to drawing requirements, adjusting speeds and feeds for optimal performance. Identify machining problems and make appropriate corrections while maintaining a safe, clean work area. This skilled position operates independently in a high-mix, low-volume job-shop environment at Babbitting Service, Inc., a leader in hydrodynamic fluid film bearings manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Previous CNC lathe machining and setup experience sufficient to perform the position independently.
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge pins, bore gauges, and other appropriate measuring tools.
- Working knowledge of practical machining math.

- GD&T knowledge and experience.
