CNC Lathe Machinist Programmer

Job Summary
Program and produce metal and plastic parts using CNC lathes by reading blueprints, generating G-Code, and interpreting specifications for dimensions and tolerances. Set up and safely operate machines while loading and unloading material, performing daily maintenance checks, and maintaining preventive maintenance logs. Inspect final products and cut stock using high-precision measuring equipment like calipers and micrometers to detect defects or malfunctions, keeping the work area clean and orderly. Monitor tool and machine operation to suggest efficiency improvements and notify supervisors of required repairs.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED or vocational tech school
- Strong mechanical ability
- Knowledge of computer software, drawings, DXF's, and ability to draw using AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings with training
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and cross functional interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic, integrity, initiative, and "can-do" attitude
- Ability to work in a "team environment"
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to identify different material/metal
- Ability to read job specifications to determine machine adjustments
- Ability to read tape measure and dial caliper
