Job Summary
Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision metal parts according to blueprints and engineering drawings. Load programs, select cutting tools, and adjust settings while monitoring the process to maintain quality and accuracy. Inspect finished parts for proper dimensions, load raw materials safely, and perform basic maintenance including cleaning and lubrication. Troubleshoot machine issues, maintain accurate production records, and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Work with the production team to meet daily goals, with a 1st shift schedule in Henrico, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy materials
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday
- Ability to lift and move materials and finished parts
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and handling of materials
- Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and follow required safety procedures
- Ability to wear required PPE while operating CNC laser equipment
- Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours when production needs require it
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a CNC Laser Operator or CNC machine operator
- Experience setting up and operating CNC laser cutting equipment
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to load programs and enter production information
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively with a production team
- High school diploma or equivalent
