Job Summary
CNC Laser Operator (2nd Shift) responsible for running the cutting system capable of cutting thick carbon steel and stainless steel with gantry-type capabilities. Beveling, reading blueprints, and maintaining safety and quality in a metal shop. Requires 1+ year experience with lasers, waterjets, or plasma tables; strong math and crane-rigging knowledge; performs preventive maintenance; works independently or with a team. Shift Mon-Thu 3:30pm-2am with 15% shift differential; training on 1st shift for 2-4 weeks. Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience operating cutting equipment in a metal shop with a laser, waterjet, and/or plasma table
- Ability to work in a safe, cautious manner, exercising care and concern for the people, equipment, and product
- Knowledge of large material handling
- Competency in being able to prioritize, make decisions, follow instructions, recognize and adhere to standards of quality
- Work independently or with others; demonstrating responsible behavior and attention to detail
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance measures to ensure safety of equipment and work environment
- Knowledge of crane rigging experience with large parts is a huge plus
- Ability to read and work off of blueprints
- Strong math skills
