Job Summary
Operate CNC laser cutting machines: load and edit CNC programs, set up for full cycles to fabricate large batches of parts per specifications. Load sheet metal into bays and safely move materials with a forklift. Conduct first-part and random inspections using calipers, gauges, and tape measures to ensure 100% conformity to prints. Monitor cutting quality and adjust feed rates or machine settings in real-time. Perform daily maintenance (nozzle centering, window cleaning, dust bin removal) and advanced troubleshooting (optical path realignment, pneumatic/hydraulic checks) for Class A operators. Complete post-processing tasks including separating parts from skeletons, stacking, and packaging finished goods with banding or shrink wrap.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in reading mechanical drawings/blueprints and using precision measuring tools
- Experience as a CNC Operator; Laser experience preferred
- Forklift experience required; certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and remain active in a manufacturing environment
- Aptitude for mechanical troubleshooting and shop math
