Job Summary
Verify work orders for required drawings, quantities, and tooling; confirm steel type and material size. Log into and out of the barcode system for every order. Grind pieces to correct barrel size using go/no go gauges to check barrel size before loading. Check feeds and speeds, then inspect roundness, size, and finish on each piece. Run the first piece and obtain First Piece Inspection approval. This role operates on the 2nd shift in an air-conditioned shop environment with exposure to machinery noises and coolants. Employees may perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience working with precise tolerances to the ± .0005"
- Advanced measurement skills
- Able to use various gauges such as micrometers, indicators, air gauges, and other measuring equipment to assure compliance to blue prints
- Aptitude to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Proficient interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work as a team
- Frequently lift, handle and carry trays weighing up to 50 lbs
