Job Summary
CNC Flat Laser Cutter Technician needed to set up and operate CNC flat laser cutting machines (Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic) to transform metal sheets into precision components for architectural facades. Responsibilities include uploading cutting programs, calibrating laser settings, handling heavy sheet metal with forklifts/cranes, performing First Article Inspections with calipers/tape measures to ensure tolerances align with blueprints, monitoring machine health and assist gas levels, deburring and labeling finished parts, and coordinating with Press Brake operators. Requires reading engineering drawings, basic measuring tools, safety-minded, and attention to detail for high-precision cuts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, engineering blueprints, and digital cut files
- Experience using basic measuring tools (tape measures, digital calipers)
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift/move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) safely
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precision cuts and spot edge defects
