CNC Field Service Technician

Job Summary

Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all CNC machine tool equipment and controls, utilizing schematics and technical documents to diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. Conduct preventative maintenance, perform after-sales technical support, and train customers while ensuring proper documentation is submitted. Drive throughout a regional territory covering Alabama through Florida, with frequent travel and flexible hours including overtime and weekends. This role requires a strong background in mechanical and electrical repair for precision machined parts manufacturers in the southeast U.S.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical/electrical repair of CNC machine tools
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
  • Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises
  • Ability to concentrate and remain focused while prioritizing multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects
  • Ability to sit for prolonged period of times
  • Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavyweight material up to 50 lbs. with assistance from equipment or other employees
  • Ability to frequently use hands and arms
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment
  • Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas
  • Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Frequent travel, including driving throughout a regional territory

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other business programs as necessary
  • Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills
